One More For The Road
Alas, I should try to get caught up on some of the other things I have been putting off. Its been busy in our house. When we went on our road trip during Rico's leave, we stayed with our good friends in Colorado Springs for a few days. Once a week, their family meets for a family devotion time. Since we've been home, we've adopted this idea and we've been trying to have a Sunday night devotional time. We've also had to add a family "planning meeting" to that time so we can keep up with everyone's schedule. (Really it just SOUNDS like we're organized). This week was going to be a busy one so in some ways, I guess chickenpox, while not my favorite way to spend a week off of work, has been a blessing in disguise. The kiddos are getting a little stir crazy but yesterday Grandma GG came by and rescued Peanut for awhile so she got some good playtime. Today...well, its 10:00 already and I haven't even changed her out of her pajamas. I should probably take care of that at some point. Hope to be more on top of updating now that the plague has allowed me to catch up on some other stuff!
Green Pea Gotee
Buddies
Peanut has fallen gracefully into the role of big sister and loves her little buddy. She tries to include him in everything she does (which usually involves playing with something he could choke on).
What I love about the age my kids are at right now is their laughter. They are so sweet together. And there is nobody - NOBODY - in this world that can make Brother laugh the way Peanut does. Here's a quick little movie (terrible quality I know) of a moment in their lives together...
Chickenpox and A Whole Lot of Blogging Going On
Its been awhile...
Do you ever have those moments when life just seems to get a little out of control and you look around your house and think "I really need to just take a week off to catch up?" I've pretty much had that feeling since we got back from our trip. The funny thing is I was praying about a week ago that God would help me find time in my schedule to catch up on things around here before the holidays. And looking back, I've really got to believe that God has a sense of humor. See, about 3 days ago, I got chickenpox. You read that right. And yes, it sucks, thanks for asking.
Saturday afternoon and most of Sunday I was feeling a little ill. I don't know how to explain it, just achy and tired and maybe a little feverish. On Monday night, I noticed a little spot on my chest and thought I had a bug bite (itchy little bugger). And by Tuesday morning, all hell broke loose all over my body. No, I will not be posting pictures but I can only describe it as the plague of boils. They are everywhere. In my mouth, my throat, in my ears, on the pads of my fingers (yes, typing this sucks, thanks for asking). Forget the itching I've heard all about too because the suckers hurt like there's no tomorrow.
On the bright side, I am quaranteened to the house for the next week until I scab over (I'm sure that will be pretty) which gives me some much needed time to catch up on things. Like blogging. So prepare yourselves, the posts are on their way....
Oh, and since I'm sure you are more worried about the Peanut and Brother, well, she was vaccinated and Rico already had chickenpox as a child so we are safe there. So far, no signs on Brother, but I am sure its just a matter of time. Thankfully, the doctor said that at his age, it probably won't bother him too much and he should recover fairly quickly. I'm just praying the pads of my fingers heal before he breaks out....
